WHAT IS PALIATIVE CARE?
Palliative care is used in patients and their relatives who encounter problems arising from life-threatening diseases; It is an approach that increases the quality of life by preventing or eliminating all physical, psycho-social and mental problems by identifying them early and by making effective evaluations.
PALIATIVE CARE SERVICE
Our hospital is a care service that is treated and cared by the professional health personnel who have impaired quality of life, limitation of movement and life-threatening, and who are thought to have shortened life span.
TUZLA STATE HOSPITAL PALYATIVE CARE SERVICE:
With the capacity of 26 beds, 1 doctor, 14 nurses, it has been opened to the service of our patients since 01/10/2017. A modern medical service is provided in each room with patient monitor system and apparatus, oxygen system, vacuum system, nurse call bells. In addition, patient rooms have a personal closet and bedside table, refrigerator, television, air conditioning system, bathroom and toilet. We have a multi-purpose occupation room where the patients and their relatives can meet the needs of the home environment and socialize. We have an intervention and examination room for outpatient palliative patients. There is a special room where the hospital needs of our inpatients can be met with stretchers. During the 24-hour period, the physician serves with experienced and completed nurses and assistant health personnel. In our palliative care service, protecting our patients from infection and pressure sores is one of our most important principles. We provide maximum support not only for our patient but also for our relatives with all our palliative team members in this challenging process.
